Critical infrastructure runs the world - the refineries that power cities, the ports that move cargo, the bridges that connect communities. For decades, the engineers keeping all of it safe have worked off ropes, clipboards, and reports buried in a filing cabinet... that's the problem we solve.
Trendspek is a Structural Lifecycle Management System (SLMS) for the world's most valuable physical assets. We turn in-field inspections into a living, 3D record - one source of truth where evidence, findings and history stay attached to the asset, so owners and engineers can inspect, measure, mark up and plan in full 3D on structures you'd normally need a harness and hard hat to get near.
Most inspection workflows produce a report that ends up on a hard drive. Trendspek produces a record - the kind that stands up to a board, an insurer or a regulator.
And it's working. Our customers are household names in energy, ports and infrastructure - Chevron, NSW Ports, SA Water, the University of Sydney - and the assets in our platform are ones you've driven past, flown over, or read about in the news. Our clients typically see around a 69% reduction in preventable risk exposure.
We've built something genuinely new: SLMS, a category this industry has never had. V3 has shipped, strong funding is in from leading venture investors, and we're scaling hard off the back of it. The Technical Solutions Engineer, Reality Capture role is an early, high-leverage seat: close to the product and the customer, building the thing rather than inheriting it.
The difference you'll makeReporting to our Head of Product, you'll be Trendspek's go-to technical expert for our platform and reality capture - the person who helps turn drone data, LiDAR, photogrammetry, gaussian splats and the platform into results our customers can rely on.
It's a role that doesn't fit neatly into one box, and we're not pretending it does. In a single week you might run technical discovery with a customer's engineers, liaise with a capture crew who are heading to site next week, review a dataset on a flagship project, unblock an integration, and feed what you've learned straight back into the product roadmap. It's a genuine blend of pre-sales, enablement, consulting and product - the connective tissue between what we've built and the people getting the most out of it.
This is a build, not a maintenance gig. Reality capture is moving fast, and you'll help define how Trendspek harnesses it - setting the standard for how customers capture, and shaping where the product goes next. If you get excited by emerging technology and get an even bigger kick out of helping someone else nail it, this is a rare seat: recognisable assets and owners in energy, ports and infrastructure, a category we're creating, and the product team within arm's reach.
Be the technical authority in pre-sales and consulting - become an expert user of the Trendspek platform and partner with Sales on technically complex opportunities, running discovery with customers' technical teams, looping in our engineering team when needed, and giving prospects the confidence that we can solve their hardest problems.
Support technical training and enablement - help customers, partners and their capture crews get confident and capable with reality capture (drones, LiDAR, photogrammetry, gaussian splats) and the Trendspek platform, so both the quality of data captured and the value they realise keep climbing.
Drive capture quality - coach customers and partners to capture well the first time, sharing standards, advising on capture plans, and reviewing datasets on strategic or at-risk projects to cut rework, and flag recurring issues to our Data Specialist and Product team so standards and tooling keep improving.
Lead technical escalations on flagship projects - be the senior technical escalation point when strategically important captures, datasets or integrations need expert oversight, coordinating with Customer Success, Data and Product to land delivery and building practices that reduce future escalations.
Feed the field back into Product - continuously surface customer needs, capture challenges, emerging technologies and workflow opportunities into the roadmap, keeping product decisions grounded in real-world experience and helping shape where Trendspek's reality capture capabilities go next.
You're customer-facing and confident - you can lead a technical conversation, run discovery with a customer's engineers, and be the calm expert in the room.
You're capture-aware - you understand reality capture (drones, LiDAR, photogrammetry, and ideally gaussian splats) and what separates a great capture from a poor one.
You're processing-aware - you understand what happens to captured data downstream, and can spot the capture decisions that make or break a good output.
You bring a technical, engineering mindset - enough depth to work amongst a customer's technical team.
You are commercially aware, understand renewal risk, expansion signals, and how to frame a value story to re-iterate value in every conversation.
You've flown drones or run reality capture yourself
You know your way around photogrammetry
You can script or code - enough Python (or similar) to build an POC integration or automate a workflow on our API.
You've worked in or around asset-intensive or regulated sectors: energy, infrastructure, resources, utilities, engineering, AEC or inspection.
